A 503B outsourcing facility is a compounding facility registered with the FDA. It makes sterile injectables in larger batches under current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), is subject to FDA inspection, and can supply licensed providers with office-use stock.
A 503A pharmacy compounds for a named patient on a prescription. A 503B outsourcing facility is FDA-registered, works under cGMP, and can supply office-use stock without a patient-specific prescription, subject to state rules. Through the consortium you can work with both.
